SAFETY AND PRODUCTIVITY:
Getting the job done within budget without danger, risk or injury.

  - Cost Efficiency

Since 1982, we have taken a great deal of pride in our ability to create favorable economics on each and every job. We are creative where others are straightforward, and we take the necessary steps to insure that every element of your project is considered in our proposal and management process. But that is just the beginning of our relationship.

Our productivity advantage begins at our central office where we efficiently and effectively estimate the scope of your project, in order to pass on to you our best quote. This will deliver the cost savings and bottom line you need to secure any given budget or contract.

All of our customers benefit from our value engineering techniques and long standing affiliations with vendors, suppliers, engineering and architectural firms. All that is needed from you are the plans, specs and any addendum's to the project. We can provide you with consultation to redesign any project to tailor it to specific needs and/or budget constraints. We offer the most efficient method of electrical construction available today.
  - Project Management

Once awarded a contract, our team is available to you during the pre-construction phase of the project to provide technical input and expertise. We will negotiate, purchase and deliver the needed materials and supplies to our office or job site. We will responsibly manage that inventory to insure that the proper amounts of materials are consistently available on the job site.

Additionally, we save on-site manpower hours by pre-manufacturing many of the necessary components, via mass production assembly, at our main office. Our Supervisors, Project Managers and Field Foremen oversee this process and then have the materials delivered to our work force. This reduces the time, expense and errors associated with on-the-job assembly and compilation.
  - Quality Guaranteed

A one year guarantee is offered on all of our work. We take great pride in the fact that, to date, we have not received a call back from any of our customers. We do the installation right the first time and to the right specifications. When P.J. Smith is involved with the planning, scheduling and building of your commercial or industrial project, it will be delivered on-time and within budget.
  - Safety

P.J. Smith maintains the safety of its work force as its highest priority. We have built a reputation as one of the safest companies in our industry and we believe that a highly skilled work force not only does the job well, but also does it with a higher level of quality and attention to safety and detail.

We maintain or exceed safety-training standards established by O.S.H.A. and other federal regulators. On a weekly basis our Field Foremen conduct job inspections and hold compulsory safety meetings with their crews. These standards create a higher level of on-the-job safety awareness and practice which in turn allows us to receive lower insurance rates and premiums. These savings can then be passed on to our customers in the form of lower bids on project work.

  - Expert Workers

We only hire Qualified Journeyman Electricians who possess a high degree of knowledge, exceptional skills and years of hands-on working experience. These individuals must hold a current certification, within the State of New Jersey, and have 8000 hours of practical experience with a minimum of 576 hours of related instruction. The practical experience can not include clerical, administrative, estimating or management work. In turn, our Journeymen are charged with the responsibility of training our apprentices, especially as it relates to safety.

Perhaps our obsession with safety is best reflected by our combined desire of never having to deliver bad news to one of our associates families regarding a serious injury or loss of life. We can imagine nothing more traumatic than being the bearer of this type of news.
